Core Hospitality has announced the appointment of Jytte Vestergaard as General Manager of Moxy Aarhus, the new lifestyle hotel set to join Marriott International’s Moxy brand portfolio.

Known within Moxy Hotels as the property’s “Captain”, Vestergaard will oversee day-to-day operations, recruitment and team development, while ensuring the delivery of exceptional guest experiences ahead of the hotel’s opening in late 2026.
The 188-room property will become part of Marriott International’s globally recognised Moxy brand, known for its contemporary design, social atmosphere and unconventional approach to hospitality.
A key feature of the hotel will be Bar Moxy, which combines the reception, lounge and bar into a central social hub. Located on the second floor, the space will provide direct access to a large outdoor terrace overlooking Kulbroen, often described as Aarhus’ answer to New York’s High Line.
The hotel’s location within the South Harbour District is expected to position it at the centre of the city’s creative and cultural communities, helping to create strong connections between guests and the local area.
Vestergaard said: “I look forward to building a strong team and creating a hotel that becomes an active part of Aarhus’ urban life. With Bar Moxy, the terrace overlooking Kulbroen, and the hotel’s central location in The South Harbour District, we will have fantastic surroundings for creating experiences for both tourists and local residents.”
Vestergaard has been part of Core Hospitality for a decade and has developed extensive experience across hotel operations, leadership and guest experience management. Throughout her career with the company she has overseen multiple properties and played an important role in operational performance and team development.
Alongside her new position, she will continue to serve as Director of Operations for the two Four Points Flex hotels in Aarhus Skejby and Aarhus Viby.
Tina Berning, HR Director at Core Hospitality, said: “With Jytte as Captain of Moxy Aarhus, the hotel gains a strong leader with deep experience from within our organisation and a clear understanding of operations, guests and employees.
“At the same time, we are strengthening our organisation across locations, putting us in an even better position to deliver stable results and great experiences for our guests.”
The appointment marks another milestone in the development of Moxy Aarhus as it prepares to welcome guests and establish itself within one of Denmark’s fastest-growing urban destinations.
