Provenance Collection has announced a significant new chapter for the North Yorkshire hospitality group following the successful sale of three venues from its portfolio since the beginning of 2026.

The Black Bull at Moulton, The Punch Bowl at Marton-cum-Grafton and The Cleveland Tontine near Northallerton are now no longer part of the Provenance Collection, marking a major strategic milestone for the business.
The move represents a positive and deliberate repositioning of the group, allowing Provenance Collection to focus investment, operational attention and future growth plans on its strongest-performing core venues across North Yorkshire.
Anthony Blundell, will now formally assume the role of Managing Director from June, said: “This is a hugely important and positive step forward for Provenance Collection. By refining our portfolio, we are now able to focus our efforts and investment on the sites which best represent the future vision of the business, whilst continuing to improve them as exceptional places to visit, stay and work.”
The group confirmed it will continue investing across its remaining venues, with ongoing improvements planned to guest experiences, food and drink offerings, accommodation and operational standards.
The announcement also comes alongside a personal update regarding current Managing Director Peter Grazier, who is currently receiving treatment for Leukaemia and responding positively.
The Provenance team said its “thoughts and prayers remain firmly with Peter and his family” as he continues treatment and recovery.
Anthony added: “Over the last three years Peter has been an incredible mentor to me personally and professionally. With Peter’s agreement, I will formally assume the Managing Director role from June whilst Peter focuses on his recovery.”
Peter Grazier also shared a statement regarding the transition: “I am delighted to hand over the Managing Director role to Anthony, supported by Dan Burkitt, Head of Operations, and Amanda Gillis, Head of Finance. I know our teams, partners and guests will support – and benefit from – a fresh, younger approach.
Whilst these are not the circumstances we had originally planned for, in life you play the hand you are dealt. I remain fully supportive of the business and look forward to continuing my involvement in a non-executive capacity as a critical friend to the team as soon as I am able to do so.”
Founder and Chairman Chris Blundell also commented: “After nearly seven years’ experience within Provenance Collection and fifteen years within the hospitality industry, I am incredibly proud and confident that Anthony is ready to lead the next chapter of Provenance. An exciting future lies ahead for the business, our teams and our partners.”
Looking ahead to the summer season, Provenance Collection says forward bookings across accommodation, events, food and drink remain encouraging, with the group optimistic about continued growth throughout 2026.
Known for its boutique hotels, inns, restaurants and premium hospitality experiences, the group operates a collection of venues across North Yorkshire, many of which feature gardens, terraces and courtyards that become focal points for outdoor drinking and dining during the summer months.
Anthony concluded: “We genuinely value the continued support of our teams, guests, suppliers and partners as we enter this exciting next chapter for Provenance Collection. Here’s to a busy summer and a more focused and exclusive Provenance Collection.”
