North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College has welcomed its first students to its new Grayson Place campus in Nuneaton.
Hundreds of learners have begun using the three-storey facility, which forms part of the wider regeneration of Abbey Street and the emerging Grayson Place development.
The campus includes the college’s Grayson’s restaurant alongside professional kitchen facilities, classrooms, a Digital Innovation Hub and an Adult and Higher Education Centre.
More than 20 programmes will be delivered from the site, including hospitality and catering, digital courses, English for speakers of other languages, adult workshops and professional qualifications.
The campus is open to full-time students, apprentices, adult and higher education learners and people looking to return to or re-engage with education.
Facilities also include an arts and crafts studio and 25-seat teaching spaces which can be adapted for conference-style and workshop-based learning.
Designated public access areas have been incorporated to support wider community engagement through hospitality and retail experiences.
Marion Plant OBE FCGI, Principal and Chief Executive at NWSLC, said: “Today marks a hugely exciting milestone for both NWSLC and Nuneaton itself, as we welcome learners and the wider community to this fantastic new campus.
“Grayson Place represents an important investment in education and skills in Nuneaton and the surrounding areas. It has been designed to be flexible so that our provision can adapt to meet the changing needs of the area and respond to future employment and career opportunities.
“The Digital Innovation Hub in particular reflects the evolving digital landscape and is set to be the first choice for those looking to upskill or develop their digital knowledge and capabilities.
“Most importantly, NWSLC Grayson Place will be an inclusive and welcoming campus – a place where learners of all ages can thrive, develop their skills and explore new opportunities.”
The college said the new facilities are intended to create further opportunities for young people, adult learners and the wider Nuneaton community.
An official opening for the Grayson Place campus is scheduled to take place later this year.
