No1 Lounges is to open a new flagship lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 5 in early spring 2027 following a major refurbishment and expansion of the existing Club Aspire Lounge.
Club Aspire will close on 2 November 2026 to allow work to begin before reopening under the No1 Lounge brand.
The redevelopment will increase the lounge footprint by 28%, from 435 sq m to 557 sq m.
Seating capacity will increase from 139 to 152, with No1 Lounges saying the comparatively modest increase in seats will provide guests with approximately 16% more space per person.
The new facility will include a greater range of seating options, including additional areas for solo travellers, while power access will be available at 95% of seats.
The announcement comes amid increasing use of airport lounges by regular travellers.
Airport Dimensions’ Airport Experience Study 2026, based on more than 11,000 travellers across 17 markets, found that 52% of regular travellers surveyed use airport lounges, up 11% year on year.
No1 Lounges said UK lounge usage among frequent flyers increased by 16% year on year, alongside growing demand for facilities including private spaces, reserved seating, wellness services and showers.
The Terminal 5 redevelopment will introduce a series of separate areas rather than a single open-plan lounge.
Guests will enter through The Reception before moving into spaces including The Lounge and The Library, which will provide quieter seating.
The Pantry will operate as an all-day food servery, while The Orangery will feature a bar positioned beneath a mature tree with views across the airport apron.
A further area, The Greenhouse, will run along the length of the lounge.
The interior design will draw on elements associated with a contemporary British country house, incorporating materials including stone, oak, linen and brass.
Other design features will include herringbone timber flooring, slatted timber ceilings, arched openings and planting throughout the space.
The refurbishment will also introduce an all-electric kitchen and LED lighting, while selected furnishings will use recycled-content fabrics.

No1 Lounges currently operates Club Aspire at Heathrow Terminal 5 alongside other lounge brands across Heathrow.
The new No1 Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5 is scheduled to open in early spring 2027.
