British-born, Japanese-inspired, Miokuru is set to put a fresh spin on London’s counter dining scene. Opening its doors on Monday 13 July on Warwick Street, Miokuru will be a fast-paced, flavour-packed restaurant bringing hand rolls, seafood and Tokyo energy to Soho.

At Miokuru, British seafood meets refined Japanese culinary techniques. The 20-seat spot will champion the best produce from British waters and land, focusing on quality ingredients and seasonal sourcing. Highlights from the menu include Pressed Scallops; seasonal house pickles and Seared Chalkstream Trout Sashimi. These dishes will feature alongside a selection of made to order handrolls, such as Cornish White Crab with Wild Garlic Mayo; Dry–aged Beef Tartare with Wasabi Mustard & Herbs; and Wild Glazed & Pickled Mushrooms. To finish, a seasonal Sorbet topped with scorched Meringue.
For drinks, there will be premium London-brewed sake, and a selection of Japanese-inspired serves. The list features Sparkling White Koji (Sake), Mezcal Miso Margarita, Melon Sour, and one-off, rotating batches of Keg Sake for unmatched freshness. Alongside this, there’ll also be a selection of natural wines and London brewed beers.
Inside, the restaurant centres around a sleek open kitchen and an intimate counter dining experience, with additional bar seating that can transform into a speakeasy-esque private dining area for up to 10 guests. Designed by Block1:Design, it captures the essence of Japanese Izakaya bars with a London touch. The space offers dark wood finishes, hammered stainless steel counters, curated ceramics and soft lighting. Creating an interior that feels energetic yet understated.
“Some of the island’s best seafood, paired with rice, nori and handed to you just as it should be – simple, fresh and straight into your hands,” says Eliott Grabli, founder of Miokuru.
In Japanese, Miokuru means “to send someone off on a journey” – a philosophy woven into the restaurant’s identity. Whether a quick hand roll and sake at the counter or settling in for a seafood-led feast, the restaurant aims to be vibrant, effortless and seriously.
