The latest Kitchen Porter of the Month nominations have once again highlighted the professionalism, commitment, and positive impact kitchen porters bring to hospitality businesses every day.
Created by the Kitchen Porters Club in partnership with MEIKO UK, the initiative celebrates the people whose work helps kitchens perform at their very best.
Among this month’s nominations is Meftah Bendjebbour from Cent Anni Restaurant in Wimbledon Village, London.
Meftah has worked at the modern Italian restaurant for several years, having previously worked with owner Raymond de Fazio at another of his restaurants.
De Fazio said: “Meftah is loyal, always on time, hard-working and nothing is too much to ask him to do. What more could I wish for in a member of staff?”
The nomination also included praise for the Kitchen Porter of the Month initiative itself: “I have said this before, but I think that this KP scheme is WONDERFUL!
Also nominated this month is Lana Davies, nominated by Ursula Boardman, Head of Centre, The CRUMBS Project.
Boardman proudly said: “Lana is neurodivergent and began training 15 months ago. Since then, she has developed significantly in both confidence and capability and was recently nominated by her trainers for the CRUMBS Kitchen Porter Award in recognition of her progress managing the dishwashing area.”

Head of the judging process Paul Anderson, Managing Director of MEIKO UK, said: “These nominations demonstrate exactly why kitchen porters are such an important part of hospitality. Reliability, attitude, teamwork, consistency, and the willingness to keep learning are qualities every successful kitchen depends upon. Both Meftah and Lana should feel enormously proud of the recognition they are receiving from the people they work alongside every day.”
The Kitchen Porter of the Month initiative continues to celebrate kitchen porters working across hospitality who make a difference through their contribution, professionalism, and commitment to their teams.
Congratulations to both Meftah Bendjebbour and Lana Davies on their nominations.
Both will soon receive their Kitchen Porters Club aprons, water bottles and membership certificates.
