Abu Bakr Supermarket has officially opened the doors to Aura, its highly anticipated all-day dining concept in Roundhay, with the stunning new venue already being compared
to the glamour and opulence of London’s Mayfair.

The luxury food destination marks a bold new chapter for the Leeds-based retail giant, combining high-end interiors, immersive dining and a day-to-night food experience designed to bring a new level of sophistication to the city’s food scene.

From the moment guests step inside, Aura delivers a premium atmosphere rarely seen in Leeds. Elegant décor, ambient lighting, plush seating and sleek contemporary finishes create a setting that feels more synonymous with the capital’s exclusive dining districts than suburban Roundhay.

By day, Aura offers a vibrant breakfast and brunch experience, serving a menu packed with popular favourites alongside speciality coffees, fresh drinks and visually striking presentation. As the evening arrives, the venue transforms into a lively grill and dessert hotspot, offering grilled dishes, indulgent waffles, crepes, milkshakes and signature sweet treats.

The concept has been carefully curated to focus not only on food, but on experience, ambience and social connection — staying true to the meaning behind the name Aura. The venue has been designed as a stylish social hub where guests can relax, dine and spend time in a luxurious environment.

Aura forms part of Abu Bakr Supermarkets’ ambitious wider expansion plans across Leeds. Earlier this year, the company announced intentions to open several additional stores alongside the rollout of new food-led ventures, with Aura becoming one of the first major concepts to officially launch.

Managing Director Hamza Hussain said the vision behind Aura was to create something completely different for Leeds diners.

“Leeds has always supported our growth and we are excited to officially bring Aura to Roundhay,” he said.

“The idea behind Aura was to create something that feels like a real vibe — somewhere people can enjoy breakfast, brunch, grilled food and desserts all in one place while spending time with friends in a stylish environment.

“We wanted to create a venue that delivers quality, atmosphere and experience together. There’s a huge appetite now for destinations that feel immersive and luxurious, and that’s exactly what Aura is about.”

Over the past decade, Abu Bakr Supermarkets has become one of the most recognisable independent retail brands in Leeds, operating multiple stores across the city. The official launch of Aura signals a major evolution for the business as it moves further into experiential hospitality and premium dining concepts.
