The team behind Faber, The Somers Town Coffee House, Above and The Victoria is now entering its 20th year and is marking the milestone with the opening of a new characterful and community-led pub later this summer, The Tallyman.
Located in a prominent position on Chancellor Passage in Canary Wharf, The Tallyman has been designed as a proper East London destination for the docklands, drawing on the area’s industrial past and rich dockland heritage. Taking its name from the tallyman – a trusted figure on the historic docks who connected workers, ship owners, and customs officials – the pub aims to bring a sense of authenticity, community, and warmth to one of London’s fastest-growing neighbourhoods. This spirit has shaped the pub from conception, and very much matches the authentic ethos of the team behind it.
Food will be rooted in the traditions of London pubs, celebrating British ingredients with a wholesome, sustainable focus running throughout. Guests can expect familiar pub favourites done properly, such as pies, steak and shellfish, prepared with the same care and attention that have earned the team recognition for its wider portfolio.
Opening in response to growing demand for characterful, independent hospitality, The Tallyman is being created as a long-term community pub at the heart of Canary Wharf, helping to bring together local businesses, residents, and visitors in a warm and welcoming space. The Tallyman will open seven days a week, from 11am until late, with live music, exceptional food, and genuine hospitality.
