Gilford Castle Estate is proud to announce the appointment of Tim Husbands MBE as its new Chief Executive. A seasoned leader in the tourism and leisure sectors, Husbands joins the estate following an intensive refurbishment programme in excess of £20 million, which has reimagined the Victorian Scottish Baronial residence as Northern Ireland’s premier bespoke venue for corporate events, weddings, and high-end celebrations.
Husbands brings a formidable track record of success to the role. He famously led Titanic Belfast from its inception to becoming the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction. His extensive portfolio also includes tenures as CEO of Leopardstown Racecourse and the Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall in Belfast. Originally from Nottingham, Husbands’ return to Northern Ireland marks a significant homecoming for a leader synonymous with the region’s most iconic landmarks.
The multi-million-pound restoration has breathed new life into the Castle, meticulously preserving its dramatic architectural heritage. The reception rooms and bedrooms have been restored to reflect their original internal grandeur, offering a stunning, immersive experience for guests seeking an unforgettable “big day” or an elite corporate retreat.
