DOOD has launched Nomad’s Sunday Roast, introducing a new take on Britain’s traditional Sunday lunch by combining classic roast dining with the bold flavours of the Silk Road.

Available every Sunday from 12pm to 4.30pm, the new menu reflects the restaurant’s Persian and Levantine-inspired culinary philosophy, centred on charcoal cooking, generous hospitality and sharing food around the table.
Located on Newcastle’s Quayside, the Sunday experience begins with Kashke Bademjan, a rich aubergine dip served alongside freshly baked taftoon bread before guests choose from a selection of signature main courses.
The menu is led by the Lamb Ouzi Roast, featuring slow-cooked lamb shoulder served with carrot and walnut purée and sabzi jus. Other options include harissa-roasted baby chicken, house-spiced grilled barramundi and a chargrilled cauliflower steak, offering diners a choice of meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes inspired by the flavours of the Middle East.
Traditional roast accompaniments are reimagined with regional influences, while guests can also choose optional additions that further showcase DOOD’s distinctive approach to flavour and presentation.
Desserts continue the culinary journey with dishes inspired by the region, providing a fitting conclusion to the Sunday dining experience.
The launch reflects DOOD’s wider philosophy of creating relaxed dining experiences centred on sharing, conversation and hospitality, while introducing guests to contemporary interpretations of Persian and Levantine cuisine.
Federico Khamaneh, Manager at DOOD, said: “Sunday lunch is one of Britain’s great dining rituals. With Nomad’s Sunday Roast, we wanted to honour that tradition while introducing some of the flavours and ingredients that inspire our kitchen. It’s designed for sharing, gathering and spending time together around the table.”
With the introduction of Nomad’s Sunday Roast, DOOD offers Newcastle diners an alternative take on one of Britain’s best-loved weekly traditions, combining familiar comfort with bold international flavours in a vibrant Quayside setting.
