BM Caterers has been awarded a prestigious Silver Medal by EcoVadis, recognising the company’s continued commitment to sustainability, ethical business practices and responsible operations.

The independent assessment saw BM Caterers achieve a score of 75 points, marking an improvement on last year’s performance and placing the business in the top 10% of companies assessed globally over the past 12 months.
The EcoVadis assessment evaluates organisations across four key areas: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. BM Caterers scored particularly highly in the Environment and Sustainable Procurement categories, with the latter representing the company’s most significant area of improvement this year.
The Silver Medal recognises companies demonstrating advanced sustainability management systems and measurable performance improvements.
Having participated in the EcoVadis assessment since 2016, BM Caterers has continued to strengthen its sustainability performance within an increasingly rigorous and competitive assessment landscape.
Unlike fixed accreditation schemes, EcoVadis medals are awarded based on comparative performance against other organisations globally, meaning companies must continuously improve not only their own performance, but also outperform the pace of wider market progression.
Over the past decade, BM Caterers has achieved multiple Gold, Silver and Bronze recognitions, reflecting the business’s long-term commitment to continuous improvement, transparency and responsible business practices.
Elisabeth Ortiz, ESG Lead at BM Caterers, said: “We are very pleased with this result, which recognises our commitment to continuously challenge ourselves and improve our sustainability performance. We have worked very hard this year to strengthen our measuring and reporting processes, and we are happy to see this reflected in our score.
“We focused significant attention on sustainable procurement this year, working closely with our procurement team to provide comprehensive evidence and detailed responses across the assessment. It is particularly rewarding to see this recognised in the final results.”
The improved score reflects BM Caterers’ ongoing investment in sustainable practices across its operations, including carbon reduction initiatives, responsible sourcing, food waste reduction programmes, employee wellbeing initiatives, supplier engagement, and circular solutions.
EcoVadis highlighted the implementation of additional policies and measures, alongside the demonstration of more advanced management systems relating to labour and human rights issues and sustainable procurement, as key contributors to the improved score.
The recognition reinforces BM Caterers’ position as a leader in sustainable workplace catering and highlights the business’s commitment to delivering positive environmental and social impact for clients, customers and communities.
