Home to an East London match made in heaven – The Five Points Taproom & Courtyard combines The Five Points Brewing Company with iconic nose-to-tail smokehouse From The Ashes.

From independently brewed beers and a sprawling 450-seater garden, to seasonally led open fire cooking and whole animal Asado feasts, this buzzing Hackney spot has mastered the art of pleasing a crowd. Whether it’s a drawn out afternoon or a full-pelt sporting session, Five Points Courtyard is primed for fuss-free, well fed fun.

From The Ashes focuses on nose-to-nail butchery, smoking and open fire barbecue cooking. The menu is seasonally led, adapting as produce sourced from trusted British farms shifts and changes throughout the year. Known to incorporate Five Points beer into their smoking and cookery process, From The Ashes’ signature dishes include the BBQ Platter, Beef Short Rib, and Del Piero Doughnut – a savoury-sweet handmade sugar doughnut filled with smoked pork shoulder, chilli jam, and pork crackling.

For Summer, the hearty menu will look to lighter sides and sauces and an emphasis on vegetables, whilst also running weekly rotating specials of smoked meat or fish – ideal for the warmer weather.

2026 will also see From The Ashes’ first-ever whole animal Asado Sundays. Cooking on the ‘hog roaster’, the kitchen will offer buildable trays with meats, salads, and sauces – plus a selection of lighter summer sides.

Co-founded by Martin Anderson and Curtis Bell – and headed up in the kitchen by Ernesto Puga – the From The Ashes team’s diverse heritage across Argentina, Mexico, and even Wales inspires their recipes and cooking-styles. Meanwhile, years of training in different open fire restaurants across London informs their precise and daring techniques – butchering in-house, smoking on-site, and letting no part of the animal go to waste.

To wash it all down? East London independent Five Points beers, fresh as they come. Crafted on-site at the fully operating brewery – also serving as a backdrop to the sunny outdoor courtyard – the Five Points range includes Five Points Lager, Five Points XPA, Railway Porter and more.

A standout part of East London’s fabric, The Five Points Taproom & Courtyard features an industrial warehouse aesthetic set under Hackney’s railway arches. Spanning an impressive 250 indoor and 450 outdoor capacity, it functions as a fully operating brewery during the week – it’s the ideal spot for any occasion that calls for a round of drinks, a fuss-free meal and community led vibes.

Following a run of successes and the opening of their immense outdoor courtyard, Five Points were in the market for an outdoor food vendor. Having started out serving nose-to-tail BBQ out of a hatch in Hackney Wick, From The Ashes was the ideal solution – a fast-growing business ready for a wider audience, and the ideal accompaniment to locally crafted beers. A natural collaboration, the proudly independent, East London-based businesses came together through a shared love of BBQ, beer, and celebrating their corner of London.
