The bistro has been created through a partnership between St. Luke’s Hospice Basildon & District and AnuragFoodStory, founded by BBC MasterChef UK finalist, author and food systems adviser Anurag Aggarwal.

Hosted by St. Luke’s Hospice CEO Eileen Marshall and Chair of Trustees Gerry Peaty, the event on 6 October gave guests an opportunity to visit the new bistro, meet the team and sample dishes from its menu.

SEASONS @ St. Luke’s has been developed to provide food for patients, families, staff and visitors while also operating as a public-facing hospitality venue.

The concept places an emphasis on nutritious and inclusive food options within the hospice setting.

Alongside providing a space for dining and socialising, revenue generated through the bistro will provide an additional source of income to support the work of St. Luke’s Hospice.

Anurag Aggarwal said: “It was such a pleasure to meet some St. Luke’s Hospice supporters, including those from the local business community. It was a lovely evening and a chance for people to experience the space, enjoy the food and see for themselves what we have proudly created to help fund future hospice care.”

Eileen Marshall, CEO of St. Luke’s Hospice, said: “It was wonderful to welcome some of our valued supporters and local businesses to SEASONS @ St. Luke’s for this very special evening. We hope the Bistro will become a place that people enjoy visiting regularly, knowing their custom is helping us to continue to provide vital specialist care for our patients and essential support for their loved ones.”

Located at the Thurrock Hospice, SEASONS @ St. Luke’s is now open to the public, serving coffee, lunch and early evening dining alongside providing a space for patients, families, visitors and the wider community.
