The July and Dublin hospitality group Bereen Brothers are to open Onóra, a new all-day neighbourhood restaurant on Capel Street, this October.
The partnership brings Conor and Marc Bereen, whose restaurant portfolio includes Coppinger, Orwell Road, Row Wines and Charlotte Quay, north of the Liffey for the first time.
The Bereen Brothers are working with The July on Onóra’s food and drink direction, service style and approach to hospitality, with the restaurant intended to operate as a neighbourhood destination for both local residents and visitors.
Marc Bereen said: “Developing Onóra in partnership with The July has allowed us to introduce their team to the incredible culinary scene we have here in Dublin, and across the island.
“Our shared vision is to create a great restaurant that adds something to the city’s dining culture – defined by exceptional produce, simple food, perfect execution and genuine hospitality. A place where locals and visitors come together and everyone belongs.”
Northern Ireland-born Head Chef Lauren Shimmin will lead the kitchen, working with The July and Bereen Brothers teams on menus centred on Irish produce and European influences.
Lunch dishes will include salt cod croquettes, mussels with fries and roast porchetta with salsa verde.
The evening menu will include Carlingford oysters with shallot vinaigrette, tagliolini with crab, chilli and lemon, and whole grilled brill with capers and brown butter.
After dinner, Onóra will move towards a later-night drinks offer, with classic and signature cocktails alongside wines sourced from smaller local distributors and beer from Whiplash Brewery on tap.
The restaurant’s interiors have been developed by The July’s in-house design team, led by Dublin-born Head of Design Caitriona McGachy, in collaboration with interior studio Fettle.
The design will include references to Irish designer Eileen Gray alongside artwork from local artists.
Onóra forms part of The July Dublin, with the wider building holding BREEAM Excellent certification. Sustainability measures include an all-electric energy system, solar power and the use of non-toxic materials.

“We didn’t want to create just another hotel or another hotel restaurant; we wanted to build a genuine neighbourhood destination where guests and locals naturally come together – creating a space that feels comfortable, effortless, and alive from day one.”
Onóra is scheduled to open on Capel Street in October 2026.
