Mercure Hotels & Resorts has opened Mercure Oradea, marking Accor’s first hotel in the western Romanian city and its 26th property in the country.

The 90-room hotel represents an investment of approximately €15 million and operates under a franchise agreement with local investor Grand Hotel West.
Hotel management is being provided by Spark Hospitality, which operates hotels and resorts in Romania and international markets.
Located on Ceyrat Street in the western part of Oradea, the property provides access to the historic city centre, Oradea Arena and several of the area’s principal business and industrial districts.
Andrii Davydenko, Vice President Operations, Ukraine & Romania at Accor, said: “Mercure Oradea brings to life the brand’s promise to Local Shared with Care, offering guests a genuine gateway to the city and its heritage.
“Rooted in the character of its surroundings, the hotel reflects the unique spirit of Oradea while delivering the high-quality standards guests expect from Mercure worldwide.
“As our first address in the city, this new hotel marks an important step in strengthening both our presence in Romania and the city’s connection to global travellers.”
Accommodation spans Classic and Privilege rooms alongside Junior and Executive Suites, with interconnecting and accessible options also available.
Selected guestrooms feature balconies, while some suites provide private terraces with outdoor whirlpools. In-room facilities include high-speed Wi-Fi, Chromecast, minibars, air conditioning and smart controls.
The hotel’s food and beverage operation is led by Certified Master Chef Henrik Sebok.
Rei Restaurant focuses on seasonal ingredients and locally influenced cooking, supported by Rei Café and the Cobalt wine bar and cellar, which can also be used for private events and dinners.
Rareș Țicra, Representative of Grand Hotel West, said: “As a local investor and committed supporter of Oradea’s development, I am confident that the opening of Mercure Oradea in partnership with Accor brings a valuable and distinctive addition to the city’s hospitality landscape.
“This further strengthens the city’s positioning as a European travel destination, enhances its appeal to both business and leisure travellers and contributes to its long-term tourism development and economic growth.”
Mercure Oradea also includes four meeting rooms equipped with audiovisual technology and natural light.
The largest meeting space measures 141 sq m and can accommodate up to 140 people, with catering available for corporate meetings and events.
For leisure guests, StratumSPA provides an indoor heated swimming pool, whirlpools, dry and steam saunas, fitness facilities and a programme of massage and wellness treatments.
The property also offers underground and outdoor parking alongside electric vehicle charging facilities.
The opening expands Accor’s presence in Romania while introducing Mercure to Oradea, a city known for its Art Nouveau architecture and thermal wellness heritage.
Mercure operates more than 1,000 hotels internationally, with the brand positioning individual properties around local culture, food and destination identity.
