The deal will see the former Whitbread restaurant sites return to trading under Common Table Group, with the first expected to relaunch from mid-November 2026.

Common Table Group said the acquisition will create 700 new hospitality jobs, alongside team members transferring from Whitbread under TUPE arrangements.

The company intends to reopen all of the acquired sites as soon as possible and will invest in refurbishing the restaurants, developing teams and introducing new menus.

The venues will continue to operate primarily as restaurants, offering all-day food and drink to hotel guests and local customers. They will also include a speciality barista coffee offer from Rodeo, the coffee business operated by Common Table Group’s sister company, Rodeo Group.

Common Table Group said individual restaurants will be given a degree of local autonomy, with teams encouraged to shape their venues around their respective markets and communities.

Thomas Anderson, Managing Director of Common Table Group, said: “Our priority is to get the sites back open and trading as soon as possible. We’re building an entrepreneurial business with a local feel, where our teams are empowered to make decisions and shape each venue around the people and communities it serves.

“We’re excited about what we can create together and look forward to bringing new energy and ideas to our guests.”

Anderson is a hospitality entrepreneur whose experience includes running restaurants and leading Rodeo Group, a speciality barista coffee and bakery business operating 15 Rodeo Doughnut sites in London and Manchester.

Common Table Group is supported by Rove360 Ltd, a hospitality transformation consultancy whose team includes former senior Whitbread managers.
