Junkyard Golf Club has opened the UK’s first Junkyard Social Club at Liverpool ONE, introducing a new entertainment-led format that will provide the blueprint for further conversions across the operator’s estate in 2027.

The relaunch marks a significant development in Junkyard’s business strategy, expanding its traditional crazy golf offering to incorporate live music, karaoke, interactive games and food and drink within a single venue.
Located on The Terrace within Liverpool ONE’s dining and leisure quarter, the 14,000 sq ft property originally opened in March 2019 and has become one of the operator’s most established locations.
Since opening, the Liverpool venue has recorded more than 700,000 games played and over 20 million golf balls hit, according to the company.
The transformation introduces a broader range of activities designed to attract customers throughout the evening, including those visiting primarily for drinks, food or live entertainment rather than crazy golf.
A new stage for live music has been installed near the entrance, while the bar area has been redesigned to incorporate walk-in pool and interactive darts facilities, which customers can use without advance bookings.
One of the venue’s original crazy golf courses, Gary, has been removed to accommodate two ultraviolet karaoke rooms and a dedicated bookable games area.
The new gaming space features interactive darts, pool and arcade machines, including Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Point Blank and Ms Pac-Man.
An American-style cornhole area has also been introduced, offering an additional activity for customers between bookings or those visiting the venue for drinks.
Food and beverage forms a central part of the relaunched concept, with Manchester-based Bunny Jackson’s operating Bunny’s Kitchen within the Liverpool venue.
The food offering includes the brand’s established American-inspired dishes, with service available until 10pm daily.
The venue will also introduce a programme of regular entertainment, including monthly Bandaoke events, combining live music with audience participation.
A Monday-to-Thursday happy hour will complement the expanded food, drink and entertainment offering.
Sam Jones, Managing Director at Junkyard, said: “Liverpool has always been one of our best-performing sites, so it made sense for it to be the first to become a Junkyard Social Club. Getting the doors open is a big moment for us. This is the version of Junkyard we want to build towards, and the next few months here will shape how and where we take it next.”
The opening represents Junkyard’s latest response to changing consumer demand within the competitive socialising market, where operators are increasingly combining multiple activities with hospitality and entertainment.
Rather than relying on a single attraction, the new format aims to encourage customers to spend longer within the venue by providing different activities and experiences throughout their visit.
Liverpool will serve as a testing ground for the expanded concept, with the company planning to assess its performance ahead of further conversions across its UK portfolio in 2027.
The new format also strengthens Liverpool ONE’s existing leisure and hospitality offering, adding a multi-activity entertainment venue within the destination’s established dining and leisure quarter.
Junkyard Social Club is now open at ONE, 1 Paradise Street, Liverpool, operating from midday to 11pm Monday to Thursday, midday to 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, and 11am to 10pm on Sundays.
