Parkdean Resorts is to invest £6 million in Thorness Bay Holiday Park on the Isle of Wight as part of a major transformation scheduled for completion by Easter 2027.

The programme will introduce new activities including high ropes, indoor adventure golf and off-road driving experiences for children aged four and over.
Families will also have access to expanded indoor and outdoor adventure play areas, a bounce park, sports court and Bear Grylls-themed escape room.
The investment forms part of Parkdean Resorts’ wider £70 million programme of upgrades across its holiday parks during 2027.
Thorness Bay will also gain a new two-storey venue incorporating Hat-Tricks, Parkdean Resorts’ sports bar concept, with interactive darts, pool and shuffleboard alongside food and drink.
The park’s food and beverage offer will be expanded further through the addition of Scoops Ice Cream, Joe’s American Grill and Thunderbird Strip Shack.
A new outdoor entertainment and dining space will also be introduced with bar facilities and outdoor seating.
Parkdean Resorts said the development is expected to support tourism on the Isle of Wight while creating additional permanent and seasonal employment.
The operator currently has four holiday parks on the island – Landguard, Lower Hyde, Nodes Point and Thorness Bay – employing more than 430 people.
Around 240 seasonal positions were also recruited across the four properties during 2026.
Steve Richards, CEO at Parkdean Resorts, said: “We’re committed to investing £6m in Thorness Bay Holiday Park, upgrading our accommodation and further enhancing the holiday experience for guests and owners on the Isle of Wight. From exciting new activities that include adventure golf and high ropes to an enhanced food and drink offering, there will be even more for families and holidaymakers to enjoy.
“This investment reflects our continued commitment to supporting local jobs, tourism and economic growth in the communities where we operate. We look forward to welcoming guests to a new and improved Thorness Bay from Easter 2027.”
Parkdean Resorts owns and operates 65 holiday parks across the UK and welcomed more than three million holidaymakers during the previous year.
Twenty-five of its parks were recognised in the 2026 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.
