YTL Hotels and a private fund managed by BlackRock have acquired a 304-room hotel in Singapore that will be repositioned as Hotel Stripes Singapore Chinatown, Autograph Collection.

Located at 181 South Bridge Road, between Singapore’s Central Business District and Chinatown, the 16-storey property will begin its transformation this October under new management.
The project will introduce the Hotel Stripes brand to Singapore for the first time and see the property join Marriott International’s Autograph Collection.
Hotel Stripes Singapore Chinatown will draw on the approach established by sister property Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur while developing an identity influenced by its Chinatown location.
The redevelopment will focus on contemporary design alongside elements reflecting the architecture and heritage of the surrounding neighbourhood.
“We are thrilled to expand our footprint into Singapore alongside BlackRock and deepen our long-standing relationship with Marriott International,” said Dato’ Setia Mark Yeoh, Executive Director for YTL Hotels. “The remarkable success of Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur proved beyond doubt that today’s travellers crave distinct stories and deeply localised experiences. They want to feel connected to a place, not just stay in it. Hotel Stripes Singapore Chinatown will deliver exactly that, weaving Singapore’s unique cultural narrative into a cosmopolitan hotel experience that redefines the boutique landscape in the Lion City.”
“This acquisition underscores our conviction in Singapore’s enduring appeal as a leading global business and leisure hub,” said Andrew Lee, Head of Singapore, SEA & South Korea for APAC Real Estate, BlackRock. “Together with YTL Hotels, we see a compelling opportunity to transform a prime asset into an Autograph Collection hospitality offering for modern travellers. We aim to create a distinctive boutique hospitality experience in the heart of the city for the long term.”
The acquisition represents the second major Singapore hospitality investment by YTL Hotels and BlackRock in less than 18 months.
The partnership acquired the 299-unit Citadines Raffles Place in May 2025, with the property subsequently rebranded as Oakwood Premier Raffles Place Singapore earlier this year.
Hotel Stripes Singapore Chinatown will join Marriott International’s Autograph Collection, giving the independently positioned property access to Marriott’s global distribution network and Marriott Bonvoy loyalty programme.
The Singapore project follows the development of Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur, which is also part of Autograph Collection and is located within the Malaysian capital’s historic Heritage Row district.
The forthcoming property will expand YTL Hotels’ presence in Singapore while continuing its partnership with BlackRock and Marriott International.
