The UK’s leading experiential muscular dystrophy charity, The Muscle Help Foundation, fulfils the dreams of children and young people living with the muscle wasting disease Muscular Dystrophy.

In the charities 22nd year, MHF’s CEO Michael McGrath MBE is reaching out to the hospitality industry to get behind and support a playful foodie fundraising initiative called ‘Meatballs for Muscular Dystrophy’.
This always-on initiative offers organisations an easily executable opportunity to attract new guests by simply adding a meatballs dish to their menu.
With a new meatball dish on the menu, MEATBALL CREATIVITY, alongside a micro-donation from the dish coming to the charity, organisations help fund more cherished moments for some of society’s most vulnerable children. Each Muscle Dream intervention is co-designed with families to boost confidence, improve mental wellbeing, and reduce isolation.
No two Muscle Dreams are the same, from powerboating on the ocean, to taking the controls of an aircraft and experiencing level flight, to enjoying a day built around a personal passion, each Muscle Dream delivers joy and empowerment.
The charity’s signature event is inclusive driving experience programme supported by Meatballs for Muscular Dystrophy partners, the Porsche Experience Centre Silverstone & Whittlebury Park. Below is a video with insight to how this amazing day makes such a difference to so many people’s lives.
Meatballs for Muscular Dystrophy continues to attract support from several industry names, including Robin Sheppard FIH, co-founder of the UK’s largest independent hotel group, Bespoke Hotels and co-founder and Chair of Accessible Hospitality Alliance.
McGrath emphasised his passion for MHF’s mission that he hopes others will share saying: “It’s my hope that Meatballs for Muscular Dystrophy will in time become a firm foodie favourite across the hospitality industry.
“I am seeking to engage with change makers, leaders who shape our industry and make it hospitable to all. One simple addition to a menu can make a world of difference to many people, and how our industry is perceived. To those who have already committed support, thank from the bottom of my heart.”
