The expansion of Accessible Hospitality Alliance (aha) beyond London reflects the growing recognition that accessibility, inclusion and commercial performance are increasingly interconnected within hospitality and tourism. What began as a forum convening operators, designers and suppliers around accessible guest experience and inclusive employment is now evolving into an international platform examining how accessibility is shaping the future competitiveness of destinations.

That evolution is reflected in The Mediterranean aha Forum, in Partnership with VisitMalta Incentives & Meetings, taking place on 18 March 2026 at the Malta Marriott Resort & Spa, Balluta Bay, St Julian’s.

Deloitte Malta has now joined The Mediterranean aha Forum as a Founder Sponsor Partner, bringing the insight of one of the world’s most respected professional services organisations to a conversation increasingly central to the future of tourism.

Deloitte provides leading professional services to nearly 90% of the Fortune Global 500® and thousands of private companies. Deloitte people deliver measurable and lasting results that help reinforce public trust in capital markets and enable clients to transform and thrive.

Building on its 180-year history, Deloitte spans more than 150 countries and territories.

Deloitte Malta’s involvement reflects the firm’s long-standing engagement with the island’s hospitality sector and its commitment to helping Malta strengthen its position as a leading international tourism destination.

David Delicata, Hospitality Leader at Deloitte Malta

David Delicata, Hospitality Leader at Deloitte Malta, said: “Deloitte Malta is proud to join The Mediterranean aha Forum as a Founder Sponsor Partner. Over the past two decades, we’ve had the privilege of supporting Malta’s hospitality sector through data analysis, strategic advisory, digital transformation, and talent development initiatives. This partnership represents a natural evolution of that commitment.

“However, this sponsorship goes beyond our corporate social responsibility, it reflects our genuine conviction in the Alliance’s mission.

“The hospitality landscape is undergoing profound demographic shifts, with evolving traveller expectations, changing workforce dynamics, and new market opportunities reshaping the industry.

“The Mediterranean aha Forum provides an essential platform for industry leaders and stakeholders to collaborate, innovate, and navigate these transformations together whilst making Malta’s tourism offering more accessible to a wider client base.

“We’re excited to contribute our expertise and resources to help shape the future of Mediterranean hospitality, ensuring the region remains competitive, inclusive and resilient in an increasingly dynamic global market.”

Shawn Pisani, Malta Lead, Accessible Hospitality Alliance

Welcoming Deloitte Malta as a Founder Sponsor Partner of The Mediterranean aha Forum, Shawn Pisani, Malta Lead, Accessible Hospitality Alliance said: “Accessible hospitality is about people. It is about recognising that talent exists everywhere and that every guest deserves to experience our destinations with dignity and ease.

“The Mediterranean has always been a region defined by warmth, welcome, and human connection. Through the Mediterranean aha Forum in Malta, we are bringing together leaders who believe that inclusion is not a limitation on our industry, but one of its greatest opportunities.

“Partnering with leading organisations, forward-thinking hospitality leaders such as Deloitte, we are creating a platform where innovation, inclusion, and business performance can advance together. Our ambition is simple: to help position the Mediterranean as a global leader in accessible and inclusive hospitality.”

The forum will bring together senior leaders from hospitality, tourism, banking, finance, government and advocacy to explore how accessibility is increasingly becoming part of hospitality’s operational and strategic DNA.

Deloitte Malta’s decision to step forward as a Founder Sponsor Partner further strengthens the coalition of organisations convening through The Mediterranean aha Forum to examine the future of hospitality in the region.
